We recently made changes to our Privacy Policy as well as the data that we request from members.
Beginning in May 2023, we are asking everyone submitting a membership application or renewal to voluntarily provide enhanced information, including gender identity, race, sexual orientation, disability status, and year of birth. The CCS Privacy Policy has been updated to reflect this change. Of course, you can decline to provide this information if you wish.
Our goal is to better understand the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals within the cardiovascular community, in an effort to foster equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) within our organization. This information will help us tailor our programs, initiatives, and resources to better support you and all CCS members effectively.
Rest assured, the data collection, usage, and disclosure will be handled in strict accordance with our EDI Data Governance Policy. This policy is designed to maintain your privacy and safeguard your information and its confidentiality.
We appreciate your support and encourage you to consider voluntarily providing the enhanced demographic and identity information by logging in to MY.CCS.ca. Your contribution will play a crucial role in helping the CCS progress towards EDI goals. However, it is your choice to provide this information and it will have no consequences for your individual membership or participation within CCS initiatives.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this change or the updated CCS Privacy Policy, please do not hesitate to contact us at privacy@ccs.ca or 1-877-569-3407.
