Our members are passionate and they have heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the Society to reach its maximum potential, it needs your incredible talent to form all standing committees \u2013 from Guidelines to the annual Canadian Cardiovascular Congress. Members like you, choose to join committees to learn, contribute, grow professionally, and to shape the development of CCS programs and projects. Your involvement in and dedication to committees are key ingredients to help us advance heart health for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong><u><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">N<\/mark><\/u><\/strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong><u>ow<\/u><\/strong><\/mark><\/em><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"> is your chance to get involved!<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seats are now open on the CCS committees listed below. Support a colleague who wants to become more involved by nominating them, or nominate yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>Note:<\/u><\/strong> The CCS supports Early Career Members in their professional journey including creating opportunities to be on committees. We strongly encourage these members to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CCS Members-in-Training apply for positions via the Trainee Committee at <strong><a href=\"mailto:trainees@ccs.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">trainees@ccs.ca<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A nominee must be a CCS member in good standing and have or demonstrate enthusiasm to develop the following competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Is willing to serve \u2013 <\/strong>applies strong commitment to the CCS, commits to active participation, and manages conflict of interest in both appearance and fact<\/li><li><strong>Attends to details \u2013 <\/strong>completes tasks or assignments on time, without revision<\/li><li><strong>Offers subject matter expertise \u2013<\/strong> brings needed experience, expertise and perspective as well as balance to committee membership<\/li><li><strong>Communicates effectively \u2013 <\/strong>has strong oral and written communication skills<\/li><li><strong>Helps expand the CCS Network \u2013 <\/strong>expands the diversity of the CCS network of members, contacts and stakeholders to enhance the reach, relevance and effectiveness of the CCS<\/li><li><strong>Offers professional stature \u2013 <\/strong>leverages their clinical knowledge and experience to advise and guide CCS activities, as well as represent the CCS in their undertakings<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-red-background-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/THZKZVT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Please complete your nomination here<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Nominations are due by <strong><u>August 29, 2022 no later than 17:00 EDT<\/u><\/strong>.<\/li><li>The decisions regarding committee positions will be communicated to nominees by <strong><u>November 2022<\/u><\/strong><\/li><li>New positions come into effect as of December 2022.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"><em><strong><u>Remember:<\/u><\/strong><\/em> you can nominate yourself!<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>List of CCS Committees with open positions for members for 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Advocacy Committee<\/li><li>Audit and Risk Management Committee<\/li><li>Continuing Professional Development Committee<\/li><li>Development Committee<\/li><li>Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee<\/li><li>External Relations Committee<\/li><li>Governance Committee<\/li><li>Guidelines Committee<\/li><li>Guidelines Committee Chair<\/li><li>Membership Committee<\/li><li>Scientific Program Committee \u2013 Education Chair<\/li><li>Annual Meeting Chair<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ccs.ca\/committees\/\">Learn more about our committees<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Committees where there is no open position in 2022 are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Journals Committee<\/li><li>Research Fellowship and Awards Committee<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong><u>Note:<\/u><\/strong><\/em> New committees are periodically formed.
