Dr. Vincent Chan is an accomplished academic surgeon and a passionate advocate for improving cardiovascular care in Canada. Through his involvement with the CCS, Dr. Chan collaborates with heart specialists from varied backgrounds to advance research, create clinical guidelines, and enhance education. He believes the CCS is key to help him extend his horizons and accomplish more in the field with collaborators outside his usual environment.
As a specialist in mitral valve disease, Dr. Chan values the intricate nature of reconstruction surgeries, particularly the minimally invasive approaches. His dedication to improving patient outcomes is fuelled by his belief in the importance of quality and access to care for all Canadians.
Guided by his faith, his family, and the motto to “enjoy the ride,” Dr. Chan embraces the challenges and rewards of his work. When he is not working, Dr. Chan loves spending time with his three amazing daughters.
