On behalf of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS), it is with regret that I share that our National Cardiac Reporting System – better known as the Quality Project – did not receive federal funding in Budget 2021, despite significant effort to bring this important message to our elected officials.
In the coming weeks, the CCS will gather feedback and advice from federal decision-makers and our members to determine our next steps.
We are grateful to our members, partners, and stakeholders who have been instrumental in the activation of our Quality Project activities. With the launch of CCS’s Advocacy Committee and with cardiovascular care advocacy being central to our strategic direction, we are eager to work with the government and other partners in new ways to advance the heart health of all Canadians.
