The CCS Guidelines Committee is seeking submissions to be considered for Guideline and Clinical Practice Update (CPU) topics for development in 2023 – 2024. The submission system opens on September 16, 2022, and will close on September 30, 2022.
You must be a CCS member to submit a topic. Work on the document cannot already be started. Feel free to start planning your submission. Submissions are to include:
- Your contact information
- Type of document: Guideline or CPU
- Title and focus of the Guideline / CPU
- Rationale for developing a document on this topic now
- Suggestions for Co-chairs or contributing authors
- If applicable, identification of CCS Affiliate(s) collaborating on / endorsing the topic submission
- Summary of a Knowledge Translation plan for the Guideline / CPU
- Any other information you feel is relevant
The Guidelines Committee will review all submissions. Evaluation criteria include the following and you are encouraged to consider these items in your submission:
- A topic of urgency and/or significant changes in evidence
- Importance to patient
- Contribution to CJC Impact Factor
- Uniqueness to Canada
- Major gap(s) in clinical care
- Alignment with CCS’s Mission, Vision and Strategic Pillars:
- Mission: Strong heart teams in a heart healthy Canada
- Vision: We advance heart health for all
- Strategic Pillars:
- We set standards for excellence in heart health and care
- We build the knowledge and expertise of the heart team
- We influence policy and advocate for the heart health of all Canadians
