What’s Covered: The Ontario government has recently approved ApoB and lipoprotein(a) lab collection and testing as a pilot program, as per CCS’s most recent Dyslipidemia Guidelines recommendations. This presentation reviews lipoprotein(a) and the evidence demonstrating its association with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, as well as the 2021 CCS guideline recommendations for lipoprotein(a) in risk stratifying patients. Case studies are used to demonstrate application to clinical treatment decision. A brief overview of the pilot program is also included.
