Best Abstract Award:
The CSVMP Best Abstract Award was established in 2024 to recognize excellence in vascular medicine research.
A call will go out annually to all CSVMP members adhering to the CCS Call for Science deadline for abstract submissions.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The abstract must be submitted to the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress (CCC) in the field of vascular medicine.
- Only the first author of the abstract is eligible to submit.
- The first author must be a Resident/Fellow/Researcher Member-in-Training or Early Career Member i.e. transitioning through their first seven years in practice.
- Clinical or basic science research is accepted.
Selection Criteria:
- Abstracts that are accepted for presentation at CCC will be considered.
- The recipient will be selected by the CSVMP’s Board of Directors or by a Committee selected by the Board based on the following criteria:
- Quality of abstract;
- Scientific question;
- Rigour of methodology employed; and
- Clinical or scientific originality and impact existing literature.
Finalist Presentation:
In addition to their CCC abstract poster presentation, the finalist will present their research at the CSVMP Symposium.
Award Prize:
The winner will receive a $500 cash award, as well as an honorary certificate. The award will be presented at the CCC at the CSVMP Spotlight Session.
