CCC 2020 CUBED+ Symposia

Overall Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of theses sessions, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the cardio-renal spectrum in type 2 diabetes (T2D);
  • Differentiate among the large outcome trials focused on the major comorbidities in T2D; and
  • Implement the recommendations of clinical practice guidelines and translate recent clinical trial evidence into risk-reduction approaches in T2D.

Eileen O’Meara
MD, FRCPC
Cardiologist, Montreal Heart Institute
Professor of Medicine, Université de Montréal

Individual Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how diabetes and heart failure are closely interrelated;
  • Know which antihyperglycemic agents can modify heart failure outcomes in patients with and without diabetes; and
  • Learn about the proposed mechanisms of action of these agents to prevent heart failure related outcomes.
